AEC students complete ‘Working in Texas’ PBL

After exploring colleges and careers and assuming the roles of a college fair speaker, a job recruiter, a job applicant, an interviewer, and a job trainer, Alternative Education Center (AEC) students completed a project-based learning (PBL) activity called Working in Texas in their English classes that started last week. Students acted as a staff member of Texas Magazine who plans to write for publication a fiction story, drama, poem, or song about the theme, “Working in Texas is challenging.” Their Asian learning partners from the Philippines helped them design an image that goes with their fiction story, drama, poem, or song. After completing their draft, they presented it to their co-staff members to receive feedback from peers. The final draft was sent to Spain for their Spanish learning partners' revising and editing activity.
